Meet Julia

I’m Julia Silver — a former headteacher, learning mentor, and mum of five. With over 20 years’ experience in education, I’ve worked with children, teenagers, and adults across schools, families, and tutoring settings.

I believe learning should feel safe, calm, and purposeful — not pressured or performative. That’s why I created Learn with Juliato offer thoughtful, structured support that meets people where they are, and helps them grow in confidence, clarity and independence.

Whether you’re navigating school stress, home education, or your own learning goals, I’m here to guide you gently — with a steady hand and a clear plan.

My services include academic mentoring, home education guidance, guided study groups, and creative clubs like AI Club. Each session is calm, structured and tailored — helping learners stay motivated, build confidence, and make meaningful progress in a supportive, human-centred environment.

How I Can Help

Here are just a few of the ways I support children, teens, and families through Learn with Julia:

Academic Mentoring

A calm, structured approach to supporting your child’s learning and wellbeing.

Academic mentoring helps students stay organised, motivated and mentally well — across all subjects. I work one-to-one with your child to create a personalised plan, offering weekly check-ins, clear strategies, and compassionate accountability. Where helpful, I’ll recommend curriculum resources to support their progress and build independent study habits.

This is ideal for:

  • Students who feel overwhelmed or disorganised

  • High achievers under pressure

  • Those navigating transitions or struggling to keep up

When appropriate, I also work in partnership with teachers, tutors or other professionals — so your child’s support is joined-up, consistent and well-coordinated.

This is more than subject help — it’s a safe space to reduce stress, build confidence, and find balance in learning.

Home Ed Mentoring

Gentle guidance, structure and encouragement — tailored to your child’s unique journey.

Home education offers freedom and flexibility — but it can also feel overwhelming to manage everything on your own.

Academic mentoring provides a steady rhythm for your child’s learning. I work closely with you and your learner to create a personalised plan, offer weekly check-ins, and guide progress across subjects and skills. I’ll also recommend curriculum resources that suit your family’s values, goals and learning style.

This is ideal for:

  • Learners needing more structure or motivation

  • Parents wanting external guidance and reassurance

  • Teens preparing for GCSEs or planning next steps

  • High-achievers feeling pressure or burnout

Where needed, I can work in partnership with tutors, teachers or specialists to make sure your child’s support is collaborative, coordinated and sustainable.

This is about more than covering content — it’s about building confidence, reducing stress, and supporting long-term wellbeing.
